Our innovative approach uses visual communication to overcome barriers and give everyone a voice.<\/p>\n<p>At a time when social inequality is increasing, it is more important than ever to find creative ways to participate. That&#039;s why we use Minetest, an open source platform that allows people to co-create virtual worlds. This approach offers many advantages.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>First, there is a <strong>low-threshold access<\/strong> through intuitive gameplay.<\/li>\n<li>Secondly, it promotes <strong>creativity and collaboration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Third <strong>Ideas can be presented visually and interactively<\/strong> become.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Our proven method for game-based participation<\/h2>\n<p>By using Minetest, we engage people who are often excluded from traditional political processes. Schools use the platform across subjects, from replicating historical buildings to chemical models<span class=\"whitespace-nowrap\">.<\/span> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lmz-bw.de\/medienbildung\/themen-von-f-bis-z\/game-based-learning\/medienbildung-mit-minetest\">State Media Center Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/ev-akademie-wittenberg.de\/aktivitaeten\/minetest-und-minecraft\/\">Evangelical Academy in Wittenberg<\/a> show the potential of Minetest for innovative learning approaches<span class=\"whitespace-nowrap\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For social institutions, Minetest opens up new ways of youth work and participation. Youth institutions such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/kulti-rockt.de\/\">Kulti Biesenthal<\/a> used the Minetest server as a virtual meeting point to maintain contacts during the Corona pandemic<span class=\"whitespace-nowrap\">.<\/span>\u00a0This enables social interaction and promotes a sense of community, even when face-to-face meetings are not possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Minetest is particularly valuable for the participation of marginalized groups. The low barrier to entry and the ability to visually represent complex ideas make it an ideal tool for inclusive participation processes<span class=\"whitespace-nowrap\">.<\/span> In urban planning projects such as <a href=\"https:\/\/minetest4kids.net\/2021\/02\/15\/gaming-als-methode-ein-gastbeitrag-von-nils\/\">&quot;The Blue Ribbon&quot; in Dresden<\/a> Children and young people were actively involved in the design of their environment through Minetest workshops<span class=\"whitespace-nowrap\">.<\/span>\u00a0Their virtually created designs were forwarded to city authorities, allowing direct participation in decision-making processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Visual communication in Minetest helps to overcome language barriers and enables people with limited language skills or communication difficulties to participate actively<span class=\"whitespace-nowrap\">.<\/span>\u00a0This is particularly valuable for the inclusion of minorities or people with disabilities in participation processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">By combining playful learning and serious participation, Minetest creates a space where marginalized groups can contribute their ideas and develop creative skills.
